Organizations can replicate their business’ internal structure using the business areas function in order to modularize the complex task of tracking ESG data across a large organization.
Take, for example, a Private Equity firm named Net Zero Private Equity. To replicate its internal structure, a user would go through the following steps.
Click “Add”, Input the name of the Business Area, a description and click create. A business area in this context would be use to represent a department, or a sub-department of the company.
Repeat this until all the departments have been represented as business areas.
Next, start creating sub-departments. Assuming there are 2 Office Facilities under Overseas Departments, a user can add child business areas under “Overseas Departments”, naming them “Japan Office”, “Europe Office”.
There is no limit to the granularity of the business’ breakdown.
Users can edit or remove an existing Business Area at any time by clicking on the three dots in line with the Business Area.
