There are 2 main types of aggregations on ESGManage,
Business area aggregation: Data from indicators tracked in child business areas aggregate upwards to the indicator tracked at the parent level.
Customized aggregation: Pick and choose individual indicators to aggregate from.
Both have their specific use cases and can be used together to create advanced aggregations on the platform.
When user has configured the same indicator for all child and the parent BA, and entered the relevant data, the user can create a function that would automatically aggregate values for the same indicator.
On data recording page, there is a section for Business Area Aggregation:
Select a method to apply to, then click Create
.
Now when facts for each tracked indicator under Digital Healthcare, Rocket Tech and Sustainable Tech Solutions are entered, the sum for Net Zero Fund 1 is automatically calculated.
Available aggregation methods include:
Sum
Mean
Median
Minimum
Maximum
Customized aggregations are a powerful and flexible way of aggregating data among selected indicators. This is helpful for tracking a subset of similar indicators out of all the others, across various business areas. For example, a user may want to track energy consumption specifically from 4 out of 10 of the facilities.
To create a customized aggregation, select the indicator meant to hold the aggregated value. Scroll down to the Create Aggregation section.
Select "Custom Aggregation" and observe that the business area hierachy is now replaced by a table of similar indicators that are tracked across various business areas.
Select the indicators to aggregate values from and the desired aggregation method. Click 'Create' to save the aggregation.
